Apple’s Mac lineup has been on everyone’s lips today, not particularly because of new products, but because of what Apple is going to do with the brand .
Apple is planning to introduce a brand new and redesigned Mac Pro in 2018. Besides, Apple is also believed to unveil two new pro-level iMacs later this year.
In terms of new pro iMacs, there is one feature that will never come to pro iMacs – Touchscreens. According to Phil Schiller, Apple’s SVP of worldwide marketing, Apple has no plan to add touchscreens to the pro iMac lineup. Schiller said that Touch is not something that pro users find interesting and they are fond of other things such as performance and storage expandability .
As for Apple, the decision to add pro level iMacs to its desktop lineup is completely inevitable, as the iMac seem to be the second most well-known Mac among users,.
Rumors about a possible iMac with touchscreen have started to heat up when Microsoft introduced its gigantic all-in-one Surface Studio. According to Microsoft, touchscreen is one of the unique selling points of its new all-in-one PCs. Apple has affirmed that developers are considered to be its strongest group of pro users, which promises to continually grow more in the future.
2017 seems to be a big year for Apple, as the company is expected to unveil up to three iPhone models including a premium iPhone 8 with OLED display, a 4.7 inch iPhone 7s and a 5.5 inch iPhone 7s Plus. Besides, there will be a new 10.5 inch iPad Pro with bezel-free design.
With many new products expected to see the light of day later this year, Apple is really ready for the fight.
