Steps to make your Instagram account private

Step one: First off, you need to launch the Instagram app from your home screen

Step two: Next up, you are supposed to tap on the Profile located at the bottom-right corner of the screen and then tap on the Settings button at the top right corner of the app

Step three: Tap on the switch next to Private Account. Once you are done, your account is now private. Your photos and videos now can be viewed by your followers only.

Steps to block an Instagram user on your iPhone

Once you have successfully made your account private, strangers will still be able to search for your name. Instagram allows you to block a specific Instagram user. Here is how:

Step one: Launch the Instagram app from your home screen and visit the profile of the user you want to block

Step two: Once you are done, tap on the Ellipsis button at the top-right corner and select the red block button

Step three: Tap on the Block button to confirm and tap Dismiss to complete the task.
